Hello, my name is Mrs. Marian Somerville. I currently teach 7th and 8th grade ELA and 4th -8th grade Social Studies. I received a Bachelors of Arts in 1997 from Saginaw Valley State University and a Masters Degree from Marygrove College in 2007. I continue to take courses to enhance my teaching each year. I taught for ten years at Holy Redeemer Catholic School in Burton and I am in my twelfth year here at Holy Rosary. As a teacher, it is my desire to help students meet their fullest potential in all academic and spiritual areas by providing an environment that is safe, supports risk-taking, and invites a sharing of ideas.
I had a wonderful childhood growing up on a 160 acre dairy farm with my parents and five siblings in the small farming village of North Branch, Michigan. I married my husband, Gene, in 1994. When not working, I love to golf, go camping, have bonfires, play and coach volleyball, read, garden, and spend time with family and friends. During the summers, I keep busy working at Castle Creek Golf Course.
